The master cylinder is an essential part of the braking system on your 1949-1951 Ford or 1949-1951 Mercury, using the non-hydraulic pressure of your foot tapping the brake to push the pistons which in turn activate your braking system. Without a working master cylinder, you'll still technically be able to brake, but your brakes will be much less responsive and require much more force to activate, creating a potential safety concern. The cylinder includes the rubber boot, grease fitting, and metal cap, and also includes pre-installed brushings. lt;/div>
