The 1969 model year for Pontiac’s Firebird featured the debut of the monumental Trans Am nameplate. With the exceptionally low production run consisting of 697 examples, every 1969 Firebird Trans Am came equipped with the 400 cubic-inch (Firebird 400) V8 engine. Capable of generating up to 345 horsepower with optional Ram Air IV, this Pontiac engine type was also available with the traditional 1969 Firebird. This lower front baffle is needed to complete the restoration of select 1969 Pontiac Firebirds.
