While most GM components are really well designed, this particular part has issues. For one, the lens always yellows and second they always crack over time. You can correct both of these problems with this underhood lamp lens glass upgrade kit for 1997-04 Corvettes. It replaces the stock plastic lens and attaches to the stock housing with the supplied stainless steel screws and the special elongated washers. For those who would like to use a plastic factory lens, please note GM does not sell a replacement lens and as of this writing only sells a complete housing which is pricey! So, upgrade to glass for a part that will last virtually forever and give you better light!
