The rubber well nuts keep the voltage regulator isolated from the core support. Having charging system problems? This could be the culprit. I have these... How do they work exactly?! Look at the picture to the left. The small end of the rubber well nut goes into the core support first and stops at the large end shoulder. Next, the voltage regulator goes on top of the large end and the three bolts are put into the mounting holes of the voltage regulator. As the bolts tighten into the well nut, you will notice the small end begin to crush against the core support. Keep tightening them and the voltage regulator will be held fast and isolated properly.
