Axle bearings are pressed into the axle housing. Also called the wheel bearing, this part reduces strain and increases the function of the axles. When they go bad, you may hear a grinding or whining noise while driving, and occasionally, oil may leak onto the tire or seep into the brake assembly. For a solid seal and a peak performing rear axle, invest in a set of rear axle bearing seals for your 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1964 Chevy.
