Fiberglass bumpers solid and therefore need to be fitted to the body. Sanding and filling the bumper, and in some cases the body, will result in perfectly matched bodylines between the bumper and the body. Fiberglass bumpers do not have the ability to absorb even minor impacts without breaking the surface. After fitting, TruFlex bumpers can be painted without adding a flex agent to the paint. This means that exact paint matches are easierto achieve.
Urethane bumpers were originally installed on Corvettes at the factory. They will absorb low speed impacts without bumper damage but they have a marginal fit and are subject to warping over time.
