The headlight switch knob gets all of the sunlight it can stand making it brittle and prone to crack. When the knob cracks, it will fall off leaving the shaft to operate the headlights of your Camaro. NOTE: To remove the original shaft: There is a spring button on top of the headlight switch behind the dash. Hold the button down, turn the shaft counter clockwise until it stops, pull the shaft and it should come out.
