The 1984-1996 Coupe Rear Window Weatherstrip was originally manufactured by GM using two separate pieces that were bonded together at the lower corners on a 45 degree angle. This design has proven to be structurally unsound as the bonds tend to weaken and separate from normal use of the rear hatch, leading to air and water leaks at those points. All replacement Rear Window Weatherstrips are made using that exact same design flaw.
This Rear Window Weatherstrip completely solves the original design problem. The angled corners have been changed to 1-piece molded corner that is much stronger and much more durable. No more whistling sounds from air leaks and no more wet carpet in the rear compartment during a downpour.
